Venom 2 Secretly Includes Footage Of Matrix Resurrections Filming

It seems traces of another Hollywood blockbuster can be seen in Venom 2, but you have to know where to look.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is in theaters now, and The Matrix Resurrections, which is coming this December, were both filming in San Francisco in February of 2020. This led to some production difficulties for the Venom sequel, but also accidentally resulted in a fun easter egg,

In a bit of impromptu thinking, the Venom team decided to utilize the nearby helicopters, being used for Matrix, and incorporate them into their own action sequences.

"The helicopters were actually on the Matrix movie," Venom 2 Location Manager Christopher Kusiak said regarding one Venom 2 action scene to Screen Rant. The Matrix was filming at the same time so we were catching part of their activity on camera."

At one point in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, you can see and hear multiple helicopters in pursuit of some of the movie's main characters. Instead of using their helicopters, the Venom team was able to use Matrix's helicopters for their scenes. We'll have to wait and see if the same helicopters make an appearance in The Matrix Resurrections this December.

The shared setting didn't always benefit Venom's production, however. "A lot of our driving shots went away because Matrix controlled all of downtown," Kusiak said. "We ended up moving a stunt up onto the top of the parking garage because we couldn’t get to the areas we wanted because of The Matrix. But if we would’ve been there first, it probably would’ve gone the other way."

For more, check out our Venom 2 review, or if you've already seen the movie, our Venom 2 ending explained. As for the Matrix, you can watch our latest Matrix Resurrections trailer breakdown.

Dwayne Johnson Is Not Backing Down on His Feud With Vin Diesel

Dwayne Johnson has spoken out about his ongoing feud with fellow Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Johnson revealed he only agreed to appear in The Fate of the Furious as long as he didn't appear in any scenes with Diesel. “I wanted to forgo drama,” Johnson said. “I thought that that was the best thing to do. For everybody.”

The feud started way back in 2016 when The Rock called out some of his unnamed male co-stars as "candy asses." In the interview, Johnson described a "candy ass" as, “something you don’t want to be. And the best way that I can describe a candy ass is: Life is so much easier, I have found, when you are not full of sh*t. And a candy ass is completely full of sh*t.”

Johnson says he shouldn't have shared the post, although he still meant what he said. Johnson also claims members of the film crew agreed with his post, saying "[it was] as if every single crew member found their way to me and either quietly thanked me or sent me a note" after they saw the Instagram post.

The two actors apparently had a talk in Johnson's trailer, where Johnson says, "It really became just crystal clear that we are two separate ends of the spectrum. And agreed to leave it there.”

Diesel spoke out about the feud earlier this summer, saying he gave Johnson "tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be." Responding to this quote, Johnson said, "I go into every project giving it my all. And if I feel that there’s some things that need to be squared away and handled and taken care of, then I do it. And it’s just that simple. So, when I read that, just like everybody else, I laughed. I laughed hard. We all laughed."

It doesn't seem this fight will be resolved any time soon, as Johnson has confirmed he won't appear in Fast and Furious 10 or 11. However, the actor has confirmed that a sequel to 2019's Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is in active development.

The Dell XPS is equipped with an RTX 3060 video card for under $1K and is powerful enough for most gamers. Other deals today include a rare 33% off the Calvin and Hobbes hardcover box set, a new SSD that's perfect for your PS5 storage upgrade, a $260 price drop on a 17" Lenovo Legion RTX 3070 equipped gaming laptop, and more.

The Complete Calvin and Hobbes Hardcover Box Set

Calvin and Hobbes is such a timeless cartoon classic and sometimes we see the paperback set go on sale but almost never the hardcover set. Today, that's changed. There's an instant $33 off discount that will automatically apply during checkout. That makes the hardcover edition cost less than the paperback edition. It's already temporarily out of stock, but you can still order it to lock in the price. Hurry though, it will sell out soon.

Dell XPS Intel Core i5 RTX 3060 PC for $999.99

This is the lowest price we've found anywhere right now for an RTX 3060 equipped gaming PC. The RTX 3060 is no slouch; its performance is superior to the RTX 2060 SUPER and almost matches the RTX 2070 SUPER in some games. You couldn't even find an RTX 2060 SUPER PC for under $1,000 at the moment. It's paired with the latest 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor. The 8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive is pretty basic, but since this is a desktop PC, it's very easy to swap out those components yourself with better ones.

Alienware Aurora R12 RTX 3060 PC for $1299 (Upgrade to the RTX 3070 for $1599.99)

Select "RTX 3070" upgrade during the customization step

This is the best price right now for an Alienware RTX 30 series equipped gaming PC. The RTX 3060 is no slouch; its performance is superior to the RTX 2060 SUPER and almost matches the RTX 2070 SUPER in some games. It will easily handle all of your games at up to 1440p, and even 4K if your game isn't too demanding. It's paired with the latest 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM. There's only a 256GB SSD installed, but it's a very simple task to add in your own second SSD or hard drive, and you won't void your warranty.

There's an option to upgrade to the RTX 3070 for an additional $300. The RTX 3070 is a substantial step up from the RTX 3060. It's a bit more powerful that even the previous generation's champ, the RTX 2080 SUPER.

Alienware Aurora R12 RTX 3080 PC for $2199.99

Do you need a rig that can run Battlefield 2042 in 4K? If you've been on the lookout for the extremely elusive RTX 3080 video card for your (up to 4K) gaming needs, then check out this ready-to-go prebuilt Alienware Aurora gaming PC from Dell. This PC comes equipped with an 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, 512GB SSD, and a separate 1TB hard drive for storage. The RTX 3080 is way more powerful than the previous generation's best video card, the RTX 2080 Ti, and is the best recommended video card for 4K gaming. The RTX 3080 is the card I'm currently using for the BF2042 open beta, and I can run the game at 4K resolution and over 60fps consistently at medium to high settings.

HP OMEN RTX 3080 Gaming PC for $1795.49

Select "RTX 3080" and "800W Power Supply" as upgrades

Here's another RTX 3080 config that's worth a look. Although its overall specs aren't as good as the Alienware config listed above, you simply won't find an RTX 3080 equipped pre-built PC for a cheaper price. In fact, the RTX 3080 by itself probably goes for a similar price on eBay. It's paired with the latest AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor (which can be upgraded). The 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD is lean, but you can easily pick out and swap in your own components.

Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 6 RTX 3070 Gaming Laptop

There's a lot of good things about this deal. First, this is one of the least expensive Lenovo Legion laptops we've ever seen equipped with a very capable RTX 3070 video card. Second, this is one of the least expensive 17" laptops we've ever seen with an RTX 3070 video card. Third, the RTX 3070 is a Max-P model which favors performance (as opposed to the Max-Q model which favors energy efficiency), meaning it has one of the best performing RTX 3070 mobile graphics on the market.

Amazon is offering the lowest price we've ever seen on the late 2020 Apple MacBook Air laptop equipped with the new Apple M1 chip. The Apple M1 chip is a bona fide speed demon that offers better performance while generating less heat and consuming less power than any of the Intel chips that Apple used in previous models.

Gigabyte Aero 15" 4K OLED RTX 3080 Gaming Laptop

This is the lowest price we've seen for a Gigabyte AERO gaming laptop equipped with an RTX 3080 video card and 4K AMOLED display. In fact, we haven't seen ANY laptop equipped with an RTX 3080 at this price or less. The RTX 3080 video card has a boost clock of 1245MHz and a TDP of 105W. It boasts an 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor and weighs 4.4 pounds.

Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller

The Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller is the most precise and customizable Xbox controller on the market. This professional-grade controller features adjustable tension thumbsticks, shorter hair trigger locks, wraparound textured grips, interchangeable thumbsticks and paddle shapes, custom profiles saved on your controller itself, and included USB Type C cable with charging dock. It boasts up to 40 hours of battery life and is compatible with the Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, and PC.

    Apple AirPods Pro Noise-Cancelling Earbuds

If you regret not picking the Airpods Pro up on Amazon Prime Day, here's your chance to get it today at an even lower price. The AirPods Pro is considered one of the best noise-cancelling in-ear headphones you can get, especially for under $200. The noise cancellation is considered to be even better than the Bose Quietcomfort because of the natural noise isolating design of the in-ear earbuds. If isolation and sound quality are of utmost important to you, then it's worth the $80 upgrade over the vanilla AirPods 2.

    2021 LG C1 65" 4K OLED TV Price Drop

Today the newest LG 65" 4K OLED TV has dropped to the lowest price we've ever seen. The LG C1 OLED TV improves upon last year's highly-rated CX model with an upgraded A9 Gen 4 processor that delivers slightly better image quality, better 4K scaling, and improved audio handling as well as a new webOS smart TV redesign. The C1 OLED TV also looks good when paired to a gaming PC with an RTX 30 series video card because it has HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K at 120Hz and G-SYNC. It's easily one of the best (if not the best) TVs on the market right now.
