Val Kilmer has reflected on the challenges he faced on Batman Forever, particularly when suiting up to play DC's masked vigilante.

Kilmer offered additional insight into his Batman Forever experience in Val, Amazon Prime Video's new autobiographical documentary chronicling the life and career of the actor. According to ComicBook.com, Kilmer reminisced about his time on set and suggested that playing Batman was quite different from fantasizing about being the hero.

"I was in shock and disbelief, mostly because I had just been exploring a remote bat cave," Kilmer recalled about being offered the role. "By Hollywood standards, Batman is the ultimate leading role and a dream come true. I took the part without even reading the script… But whatever boyish excitement I had going in was crushed by the reality of the Batsuit.

"When you're in it, you can barely move and people have to help you stand up and sit down," he added. "You also can't hear anything and after a while people stop talking to you, it's very isolating. It was a struggle for me to get a performance past the suit, and it was frustrating until I realized that my role in the film was just to show up and stand where I was told to."

Kilmer elaborated further on his performance and likened playing Batman to acting in a soap opera, though he indicated that his co-stars were not as restricted by their costumes. He said fellow Batman Forever actors Tommy Lee Jones, who played Two-Face, and Jim Carrey, who portrayed The Riddler, managed to deliver huge performances in their villainous roles.

"[Jones and Carrey] had designed this whole performance… It was just so huge I think it made no difference what I was doing," Kilmer admitted. "I tried to be like an actor on a soap opera. The way I would turn to Nicole. Go count how many times I put my hands on my hips. I don't how they come up with this style of acting but they seem to go 'Go to soap opera school.'"

Batman is set to return to the big screen in March of next year, with Robert Pattinson sporting the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves' The Batman. The Dark Knight's new suit is full of sharp lines, heavy armor plates, and a functional-looking Bat emblem, making it stand out from the other cinematic Batman costumes we've seen before.

The character will be given additional screentime in Andy Muschietti's The Flash, as both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will be back. We've already had a glimpse of Keaton's classic Batman suit, with a few drops of blood splashed across the iconic black and yellow chest symbol, teasing a darker take on the Caped Crusader for the film.

Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy's Edge – Last Call will be released on the Oculus Quest in Fall 2021, and ILMxLAB has shared a teaser trailer and has revealed some of the new characters fans will encounter in this new adventure to that galaxy far, far away, including one from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy's Edge – Last Call is the sequel to last year's Tales From the Galaxy's Edge and will bring players back to the Outer Rim and will put them face-to-face with such characters as Dok-Ondar – who can be seen at the real Galaxy's Edge – and the return of Seezelslak in this "epic conclusion."

There will also be other new characters in this VR story, including Lens Kamo, the "badass daughter of scholar parents who developed a healthy respect for history. She went into treasure hunting with the sole purpose of getting artifacts out of sites without harming them, and keeping them out of reach of the destructive collectors — by any means necessary."

Fans of Star Wars: The Last Jedi will also be in for a treat as Baron Yasto Attsmun – who can be seen in The Last Jedi on his luxurious yacht in Canto Bight – will make an appearance. His ship is called the Undisputed Victor and, according to the "masseuse Lexo Sooger, he never acknowledges the less elite members of Canto Bight society let alone even look them in the eye." He is also an ultra-wealthy industrialist who sells cybernetic parts throughout the galaxy.

"Welcome back to Batuu! Dok-Ondar has pulled up a seat in Seezelslak’s cantina and he has a job for you. The infamous ithorian sends you deep into the Batuuu wilds in search of a lost artifact. You’ll team up with the relic hunter Lens Kamo and battle against the evil Baron Attsmun.” said game director Jose Perez III. “We are super excited to continue to expand the Star Wars galaxy and hope fans swing by for Last Call.”

IGN can exclusively announce Nerf: Legends, a sci-fi FPS from GameMill Entertainment, based on the range of beloved toy guns from Hasbro.

Nerf: Legends is described as a “family-friendly FPS”, and so is a tamer alternative to the likes of Halo and Call of Duty. It features both single-player and multiplayer modes, with the campaign pitting you against evil robots using a whole arsenal of accurately-depicted Nerf blasters (although these ones fire energy, not foam darts), and the PvP supporting up to eight players.

Set across 19 sci-fi locations, the campaign features a variety of boss battles and challenges. Along the way you’ll be able to acquire power-ups such as magnetic pull darts, push darts, seeker darts, and slow darts that will add variety to combat encounters. These are used in combination with an arsenal of 15 Nerf blasters that have been pulled from Hasbro’s Mega, Ultra, and Elite toy lines. Each blaster can be personalised with perks and skins. Your player character is also customisable.

On the multiplayer side of things, Nerf: Legends is an arena shooter with 4v4 team battles and eight-player free-for-all matches. Cross-play is supported, allowing for play across all supported consoles.

Nerf: Legends is planned to launch this October on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The wacky Soviet-era FPS Atomic Heart will have two playable endings, according to the development team at Mundfish.

Spotted by wccftech, Mundfish confirmed that Atomic Heart will contain two different endings in the recently updated FAQ section of the game's official Discord channel. According to the developer, the ending that a player receives is triggered based upon a previous moral decision that they take.

The FAQ reads, "We've put an important moral choice in the hands of the player closer to the finale, because we want to nudge the community to argue and discuss about the themes that we have laid out in the story. We want you to draw your own conclusions and make your own decision, not being influenced by forces from above."

The team has, for obvious reasons, avoided giving away any details to what the decision in question is, but it sounds like it could offer some amount of replayability. Mundfish does insist, however, that Atomic Heart will not play like an RPG, and is instead an FPS game with a "strict linear plot" in which "one should not expect incredible variety".

Additionally, the FAQ also gives fans an update on Atomic Heart's development process. Mundfish has said that the game is almost complete and is now finally "at the stage of polishing and final assembly".

Despite being almost finished, the developer is reluctant to share news about a release date for Atomic Heart. Mundfish says, "In general, we cannot tell you the release date right now due to a million little nuances, starting with factors beyond our control (localization of the game into other languages), and ending with the mood and atmosphere within the team, which will obviously be worse if we eventually have to move this date."

And while we don't have a release date, we do know that Atomic Heart will be free on Xbox Game Pass from day one. When it does release, you'll be able to make use of its fantastic photo mode.
