• Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 Will Be the Last Set on the Current Map

Activision Blizzard is currently facing serious ongoing allegations of harassment and mistreatment of marginalized workers. To learn more, please visit our timeline as well as our in-depth report on the subject.

Raven Software has confirmed that Warzone's sixth season will be the last set on the existing Verdansk map, as the game looks ahead toward the release of its brand new Pacific-based map.

Season 6 has brought a number of changes to Warzone's current map, Verdansk – including WW2 bunkers that presage the introduction of Call of Duty: Vanguard later this year. As shared in a tweet by CharlieIntel (below), Raven Software has confirmed that this will be the last time Verdansk is used before it is set to be removed from the game ahead of the battle royale's next chapter.

For some fans, this will come as something of a relief. While Verdansk has tried to keep things fresh with a number of noteworthy map changes in its time – including a 1980s reskin that considerably altered various locations within its landscape – some in the community feel it has somewhat overstayed its welcome.

That's not to say that fans won't miss Verdansk; for a long time, it has been Warzone's home. However, where issues with hackers have driven a number of players towards Warzone's alternate game mode, Resurgence, a change in map (alongside the game's upcoming anti-cheat) is likely to bring some of the fanbase back to main battle royale mode.

With Verdansk set to be around for a little while longer, Raven updated fans on what they can expect to see from the map for the remainder of its lifespan. "We wanted to do something special and bring back the original Gulag, with classic showers. Players loved it and so we're happy to bring this back for season six," Raven says. Warzone's Gulag has been redesigned a number of times since moving away from its original design to varying degrees of success. Whether or not players' personal preferences align with the initial concept's design, for many fans, a return to the game's original Gulag is sure to evoke feelings of nostalgia.

That being said, a change to the Gulag isn't the only one being made in Season 6. As reported by CharlieIntel, seismic charges causing earthquakes across the map have resulted in large fissures tearing up Verdansk's landscape. As a result, large areas of Downtown and Stadium have been left in disarray with toppled buildings offering new scenic areas to explore and fight across. Ahead of the release of Vanguard – Sledgehammer Games latest Call of Duty installment to explore the second world war – players will also find various WW2-era bunkers across the map throughout its final weeks.

With a number of changes to experience in Verdansk and confirmation that the map's days are numbered, now might be the perfect time to squad up and jump back into the action. As the name suggests, this special edition controller is part of Microsoft's celebrations to commemorate the release of the company's first home gaming console, the Xbox, which released on November 15, 2001.

While Microsoft has yet to announce the controller officially, the company's official Twitter account did tease the product yesterday. Outside of gaming hardware, the company also announced other ways it was celebrating 20 years of Xbox, including a collaboration with Adidas to create a pair of sneakers themed after the original Xbox. While in July, the company partnered with Krispy Kreme to bring Xbox-themed Nexus Level Donuts to the donut chain's UK locations.

Deathloop’s Devs Say There’s One More Big Secret Left To Discover

Deathloop level designer Julien Eveillé has said that there's still one more major secret in the game that fans are yet to find.

There's a lot of ground to cover in Deathloop. The game is spread out across four different areas that can each be accessed during four different time periods. If that's not enough, players' experiences of the story manifest in various ways depending upon the different scenarios you set up along the way. While the internet has been pretty relentless in its efforts to uncover Blackreef's many hidden depths since the game's release last month, tweets from Eveillé suggest that there's still one big secret left for someone to uncover.

"I know for a fact the Internet didn't find everything hidden in Deathloop so far," says Eveillé. "There's still one secret thing I want someone to discover."

Solving the mystery, however, might not be as straightforward as just exploring Deathloop's various regions. After all, if it was, people would have likely found it by now. Responding to a fan's query regarding the nature of the secret, Eveillé said: "It's a way bigger consequence to a way bigger event that can only happen if you made it happen. Also, the cause and the consequence aren't on the same map!"

While Eveillé offered little more to point fans in the right direction, the developer's pinned tweet explains that he mainly worked on the level Updaam during the region's noon and afternoon time periods. Although that could easily be an irrelevant factor in uncovering the whereabouts of the secret, it may equally offer a good place to start.

According to the developer, when found, the secret should be pretty obvious to spot. "This secret thing isn't that hidden, it's actually very "on the nose" but is relying on a series of -not that obvious- odds," he says. So, if you're currently playing through Deathloop's storyline and find yourself rooted in a 'not so obvious' chain of events, keep an eye out for secrets hidden in plain sight – you might just make one Arkane developer's day.

For more on Arkane's latest masterpiece, make sure to check out this piece that explores how the game's original melee combat system was scrapped. Alternatively, if you're currently on the fence over whether or not to step onto the shores of Blackreef, then take a look at our Deathloop review, where we gave the game a 10/10.

Netflix Is Cutting Squid Game Scenes To Put a Stop To Prank Callers

Netflix is taking action to remove any trace of the phone number seen in Squid Game from the series after the owner of the real-life number has been reportedly hit with prank calls.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the streamer and local production company Siren Pictures have reached a joint decision to edit the phone number out of the various scenes in which it appears. This comes shortly after it was reported that the number's real-life owner had been on the receiving end of around 4,000 phone calls per day after the show premiered.

The phone number apparently made its first appearance in Squid Game's debut episode, where it was found printed on multiple business cards. A mysterious man handed out the cards, which contained the eight-digit number, to multiple characters offering them the chance to compete in a deadly survival game and potentially win a big cash prize.

It seems some viewers called the number out of curiosity, with many of them registering their interest to "be in the game." Despite being hit with a barrage of calls, both day and night, the person who owns the number has reportedly been reluctant to change it because it is linked to the individual's business dealings and client contacts.

The situation has not been helped by Squid Game's growing popularity, meaning that more and more people are streaming the series with the number exposed. The debut season of the South Korean survival drama featured as the top title on the streaming service in the US last week and is currently on track to become Netflix's biggest TV show ever.

If you happen to be coming into the series for the first time and you're relying on translations to follow the story, you might want to consider watching the episodes with the proper "English" subtitles turned on rather than Netflix's closed captions, so you don't lose the nuances of the script and all of the twisted, colorful competitions that dominate the show.
