• Hogwarts Legacy Will Seemingly Be Released After the Next Fantastic Beasts Movie

Hogwarts Legacy is seemingly slated to launch after the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in 2022.

Reddit user SeerPumpkin shared a Toy World magazine interview in which Warner Bros. General Manager Rachel Wakley hinted that the release window for Hogwarts Legacy, the highly anticipated open-world action RPG set in the world of Harry Potter, would come after the next Fantastic Beasts movie, though she didn't specify an exact release date.

Speaking about the Wizarding World IP, Wakley touched on some new developments coming through next year. She referred to "two major releases" in 2022, with the first being Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which recently moved up in the theatrical release calendar to April 15, and the second being Hogwarts Legacy, which was delayed in January.

"The second major release of 2022 will be for a new console game: Hogwarts Legacy," Wakley told the publication. "The reaction to the trailer has been amazing and it looks set to be a huge success. We know that gaming is such an important part of the market and one that we had to be involved in. From what we've seen, the launch will be well worth the wait and will deliver a unique way for fans to interact with the franchise."

Hogwarts Legacy was first announced at last year's September PS5 event, with a reveal trailer ending on a 2021 release window. However, at the beginning of this year, the game was delayed until 2022. The publisher thanked fans on Twitter for the "tremendous reaction" to the game's announcement while also confirming the new release window.

Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Portkey Games (WB Game's Harry Potter game division) and Avalanche Software (Disney Infinity) and is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, where players will be able to step into the Wizarding World to take control of the action and be at the center of their very own adventure.

The reveal trailer showed all manner of activities you'd expect to see at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, including the sorting hat ceremony and a variety of classes featuring students in robes from all four houses. It also teased Hogsmeade and dangers that players might face outside of student halls such as Dementors and dark wizards.

Multiple Metal Gear Solid Games Temporarily Removed from Sale

Konami has announced that it has temporarily removed the sale of multiple versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 from sale on digital stores.

The temporary removal of the games is due to Konami needing to renew the licenses for some historical archive footage that is used in the games.

“We are currently working on renewing the licenses for select historical archive footage used in-game, therefore, we have made the temporary decision to begin suspending the sale of METAL GEAR SOLID 2, METAL GEAR SOLID 3 and all products that include these games from digital storefronts globally starting from November 8th, 2021,” explained a post on Konami’s website.

Being removed from sale are the following games:

    • Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty HD Edition on PS3 and PS Vita
    • Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater HD Edition on PS3 and PS Vita
    • Metal Gear Solid HD Edition on PS3
    • Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS Vita and PS Now
    • Metal Gear Solid HD Edition: 2 & 3 on Xbox 360
    • Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D on Nintendo 3DS
    • Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance on GOG.com
    • Metal Gear Solid 2 HD for SHIELD TV on Nvidia Shield
    • Metal Gear Solid 3 HD for SHIELD TV on Nvidia Shield

“We sincerely ask for your patience and understanding as we work towards making these products available for purchase once again,” concluded the post. No timeframe or end date was given for when the games can be expected to return for sale.

In other recent-ish Metal Gear news, the servers for Metal Gear Solid 5 are being taken offline for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. DLC will no longer be available from November 30, and full shutdown will happen next year.

With Konami not publicly working on a Metal Gear Solid game, jumping into the old games is currently the only way to get some Solid Snake stealth action. A studio is rumoured to be remaking MGS 3, though.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Poster Gives Us Our First Look at the Return of Green Goblin

A new poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home has given us our first look at the return of Green Goblin from the upcoming film set to arrive exclusively in theaters on December 17, 2021.

While the poster, which was posted to Twitter by the official Spider-Man: New Way Home account, shares another look Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and appears to tease the return of both Jamie Foxx's Electro with a lightning strike and possibly Sandman with a rising storm of dust, it's the small glimpse of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin over Spider-Man's left shoulder that catches our eye the most.

Dafoe's Green Goblin can be heard in the first official trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and this poster brings us one step closer to seeing these villains from the other Spider-Man films showing up in the MCU thanks to the Multiverse being unleashed.

While we've been getting a bunch of hints that we'll be seeing many familiar villains in the upcoming film, fans are also eagerly waiting to see if both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will make their way through the multiverse to our MCU. Garfield has denied that he's in the movie, but we've all been fooled by actors before.

Alongside these exciting teases, it's also possible we may see The Lizard show up alongside Tom Hardy's Venom, the latter of whom was caught wearing a Spider-Man: No Way Home hat. While there are a ton of other reasons why he would be wearing that hat, Sony has said that there is "actually a plan" to connect Sony's Spider-Man Universe to the MCU.

As previously mentioned, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released exclusively in theaters on December 17, 2021, and will be the next MCU film following Eternals, which was released this past weekend and earned $71 million at the domestic box office.
