• New Star Wars Cruise Ship Bar Includes a $5,000 Cocktail

The Hyperspace Lounge aboard the Disney Wish cruise ship is serving the "rarest" and most "valuable" cocktail from the Star Wars galaxy, but it'll set you back $5,000.

The big-ticket beverage appeared in a video on social media, showing exactly what you’ll be getting for all of those credits. The drink arrives at the table encased inside a camtono (the security container used for storing valuables in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett) and is unveiled with a touch of a button and a twist of the rotary cylindric handle.

Much like the prop used on-screen, the carrier's side panels fall open granting the recipient access to the contents of the container. Inside, there appear to be three shot-style glasses serving the $5,000 concoction, officially known as the Kaliburr Crystal on the Hyperspace Lounge menu, per MickeyBlog.com, which doesn't actually list the ingredients.

People have been speculating about what might be in the cocktail for its hefty price tag. FanByte pointed out that one popular hypothesis is Remy Martin's Louis XIII cognac, which typically costs $3,000-4,000 a bottle, or some other high-quality liquor, though it's also possible that it's a more standard top-shelf liquor being presented in a novelty way.

If you'd rather keep hold of your credits, there are plenty of regular-priced drinks on the cocktail menu at Hyperspace Lounge, starting at $15 for a Spire Sunset that contains a refreshing mix of Saigon Bagur, Kamquat, lychee, and coconut. Guests can also take home a Hyperspace Lounge Glass with the purchase of any cocktail for an additional $12.

Up until now, all eyes have been on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the new immersive hotel that allows fans of the galaxy far, far away to live out their own Star Wars stories. We've gathered everything we know about this brand-new experience, including how much it costs, what the food options are, and so much more to assess whether it's worth the expenditure.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin First Expansion Arrives Next Month

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's first expansion is just a few weeks away as Square Enix has announced a July 20 release date. The Trials of the Dragon King DLC is a hefty addition to the game which includes new items, areas, and more.

A new trailer was also released for the expansion (below), which shows a handful of new enemies alongside the titular Dragon King, known more commonly in Final Fantasy lore as Bahamut.

The DLC comes with new story missions, challenges, and areas to explore, alongside new jobs, weapons, accessories, and a new equipment category.

Square Enix has said Trials of the Dragon King will be available through the game's Season Pass, which is currently available through the Digital Edition Upgrade for $30, but hasn't made clear if the DLC will be available separately as well. The Season Pass will also provide access to the next two expansions: Wanderer of the Rift and Different Future.

Stranger of Paradise was released in March, and while the PC version struggled due to the anime hair being too epic, the game has since been updated to run better.

In our 8/10 review, IGN said: "Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's story doesn't come together until the final hours, but when it does it pairs nicely with a solid and engaging action combat system and a strong dose of FF nostalgia."

Sega Is Looking to Adapt Atlus Games for Live-Action TV and Movies – Including Persona

Sega is looking to expand further into film and TV by exploring potential live-action adaptations for games developed by Atlus.

In an exclusive reveal to IGN, Sega says that expanding storytelling forms is a new and important part of Sega's overall business strategy. This is why Sega is opening up Atlus' critically-acclaimed library of games — which includes series like Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Catherine — to potential live-action film and TV adaptations.

"Atlus' worlds are filled with high drama, cutting-edge style and compelling characters," says Toru Nakahara, Sega's lead producer on the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies and Sonic Prime TV series. "Stories like those from the Persona franchise really resonate with our fans and we see an opportunity to expand the lore like no one has seen — or played — before."

Nakahara, who is also Sega's head of entertainment productions for film and TV adds, "Together, Sega and Atlus, are working to bring these stories and worlds to life through new mediums and for new audiences."

Sega didn't confirm which production companies it's interested in working with, other than to say that it is currently exploring live-action film and TV projects with various studios and producers.

Atlus was founded in Tokyo, Japan in 1986 and is famous for its character and story-driven JRPGs. One of its most popular franchises is Persona, a series typically centered around high school students who encounter occult forces that threaten the world. The most recent entry into the franchise, Persona 5 Royal, is one of the best-reviewed RPGs of the generation. Check out IGN's Persona 5 Royal review here.

The Persona series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and recent games like Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable are expanding to new consoles such as PC, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch.

Sega's previous experiences with live-action adaptations resulted in commercial hits like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, though the initial Sonic reveal was anything but smooth. Sega isn't the only company looking to adapt its video games for TV and movies. Sony is leveraging its game franchises for TV adaptations including The Last of Us, Horizon, and God of War.

But given Sega's proven success in live-action adaptations, the company is hoping to repeat Sonic's success with games like Persona.

Face-Off: Which Thor Movie Character is the Best?

Thor: Love and Thunder is just around the corner and will be the fourth solo film to star Chris Hemsworth in the role of the legendary MCU hero from Asgard. While Hemsworth has led these films, he’s had some incredible characters join him on his journey to Earth, Svartalfheim, Sakaar, and beyond.

In celebration of his upcoming adventure, we need you to help us decide who the best character from the Thor movies is. We’ve tried to keep it mainly to characters first introduced in a Thor film (or Asgardians/Asgardian-adjacents who popped up elsewhere), but we had to include Hulk from Thor: Ragnarok because he was such a big part of the film. We also aren’t including characters featured in Thor: Love and Thunder since that film has yet to officially arrive.

Do you think Thor deserves the top spot? Or is your top pic Jane Foster, who is set to wield Mjolnir and become Mighty Thor in the new film? Or does your heart have a soft spot for Korg, Darcy Lewis, or even Matt Damon’s Loki? We’ve selected 41 of the best characters from the Thor films to “Face-Off” against each other two at a time. Will you choose OG Loki over the variant Loki from the Disney+ series? Valkyrie or Hela? The choice is yours…

(And don't forget, you can pass on a Face-Off round if you don't know a character by just hitting "skip" at the bottom of the page.)

    What Is a Face-Off?

Like the name suggests, a Face-Off pits two things against one another and you decide which one is the superior of the two. In this case, you are voting to determine who the best character is from the Thor movies – Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok – and universe. It's possible to see certain characters multiple times, so you can keep voting for your favorites to ensure they get ranked higher than the rest. IGN's resident team of Thor experts pre-selected 41 characters for you to choose from. These get randomly paired up and each time you pick a winner, it's tracked.

    How Is the Winner Determined?

When voting ends on July 7, we tally up the total number of "wins" and "losses" each Thor character has, and create a ranked list based on your choices that be revealed on July 8 – the day Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters. The character that won the most matchups will be crowned the "winner," and in the event of a tied number of "wins," the character with the least "losses" will take the top spot. If you continue to keep voting for your favorite character, they'll have a better chance of ranking high on the list. You can vote as many times as you want until the Face-Off closes.

How Do I Know When I’ve Clicked Through Everything?

It's difficult to know when you've seen every Thor movie character included because they are matched randomly and there are so many possible match-ups. Playing until you vote for all your favorites or ensuring that certain characters don't get in the winner's circle are different options you can take with a Face-Off. By deciding the winner throughout all these match-ups, you're ensuring that your picks for the best Thor movie character will have a fighting chance to reach the top of the list.

Which Thor Movie Characters Have Been Included?

The list of Thor movie characters has been decided by IGN staff, and we've tried to include the most recognizable characters from Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok (plus a couple of Thor-universe characters who have popped up elsewhere in the MCU). We've tried to keep it to those who made an impact, even for a brief moment, and that left us with 41 characters. Since Thor: Love and Thunder will not be released in theaters until July 8, we’ve kept those characters out of the face-off, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, but we may have included some images of characters from the film because they just look so great.

Taika Waititi Still Doesn’t Know If His Star Wars Movie Will Even Be Made

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is working on a Star Wars movie – but he still doesn’t know when or if it will even get made.

During an interview with The New York Times, Waititi explained what he’s currently working on, after the upcoming Thor sequel.

“I’m trying to write the ‘Star Wars’ idea at the moment,” he said. “I’ve got to see how that goes, because once I submit it, that might determine when it gets made or if it gets made, even.”

Waititi’s upcoming Star Wars film was first announced in 2020, but we’ve heard very little about the project since then. Although we know that the movie will match his signature style, there’s been nothing in the way of official announcements, and not even a hint as to what the film will even be about. But we do know that it will be a completely standalone film – no trilogies or Skywalker stories, here.

The upcoming Star Wars film is expected to hit theaters in late 2023, but it seems that’s not set in stone: “Yeah. Well, not 2023, but late 2023,” said Lucasfilm boss, Kathleen Kennedy. “We haven't locked anything in.”

Considering Waititi’s unique style of filmmaking, it definitely makes sense to think of this as a standalone movie. After all, it’s easier to sell a quirky caper in the Star Wars universe than a quirky take on an already established story.

But even if it doesn’t get made, Waititi has planned for that, too. “I am cool as well to take six months off and just go hang out with my kids,” he said.

Still, the thought of a Taika Waititi Star Wars film is a promising one. He’s already had hit after hit with What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, not to mention his Marvel movies with Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Will Waititi’s unique storytelling style translate well to the Star Wars universe? I can’t help thinking a Droids or Ewoks movie with a documentary style and Waititi’s signature charm would add a dash of humor to the galaxy far, far away.
