• Murder at Castle Nathria – Hearthstone Card Reveal!

The next Hearthstone set is hitting the game on August 2nd (August 3 in ANZ), and will add 135 new cards, not to mention an air of mystery. With a central whodunnit, complete with a character called Murloc Holmes on the case, Murder at Castle Nathria is shaping up to be a lot of fun. In addition to ten legendary “suspects” (one for each class), it introduces a new card type: locations. Location cards are played to the board and can then be activated a set number of times, with a turn off between each activation. It’s all very Cluedo-esque. Alongside this is a new keyword: infuse. Cards with infuse are powered up when a certain number of friendly minions die while they’re in hand. You can see examples of all these new additions in the gallery below.

Today we’re revealing a brand new Warrior legendary card from Murder at Castle Nathria and it’s unlike anything Hearthstone has ever seen before. Introducing Remornia, Living Blade:

Yes, this card starts as a minion then swaps to a weapon after attacking, which can also attack immediately… and back and forth it can potentially go! It’s an intriguing effect, capable of picking apart boards of small to medium-sized minions. Check it out:

Quite what role Remornia will play in the new meta remains to be seen. Warrior is currently quite weak (having had a host of its key cards nerfed relatively recently), but that will almost certainly change once Murder at Castle Nathria is released. Remornia will offer versatile removal for the class – albeit at the cost of some health or armour – and there's plenty of synergy potential: anything that can buff weapons or minions, or that triggers on attacks could work well with it. We'll start to see what's possible as more cards are revealed.

I also love how Remornia fits into the set’s lore. Here’s a blurb from the Hearthstone team: “Every warrior is only as strong as their blade. Luckily for Sire Denathrius, his blade is Remornia. This sentient sword wants nothing more than to hack and slash away at the enemies of her wielder until all that's left is the red of their sins. There are many reasons why it is advised to stay on the Sire's good side, and Remornia is about a third of them.”

Sire Denathrius, incidentally, is the set’s murder victim… and also a pretty sweet-looking new card:

And if you log in to Hearthstone now, you'll get Prince Renathal (above on the right) to play with straight away! You can find out more about the set and pre-order bundles at the official site, as well as checking out all the cards that have been revealed so far. See you in the tavern!

Elizabeth Warren Wants a Universal Charging Standard For Smartphones

Massachusetts Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey, along with Bernie Sanders from Vermont, are pushing for a universal charging standard for smartphones, the senators said in a letter sent Thursday to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

In the letter, the lawmakers urge the Department of Commerce to develop a strategy to protect consumers and mitigate e-waste, following lead of the European Union on universal chargers.

"Consumers shouldn’t have to keep buying new chargers all the time for different devices. We can clear things up with uniform standards—for less expense, less hassle, and less waste," Warren posted on Twitter.

The senators argue that not having a universal charger creates a financial burden for consumers and creates more electronic waste, writing, "In addition to unnecessary expense for American consumers, disposing of and replacing chargers generates e-waste that leads to environmental damage, including spreading toxins in water, polluting soil, and degrading air quality. Discarded and unused chargers alone generate more than 11,000 tons of e-waste annually."

Though the senator's letter did not specify what that standard charger should be, the European Union's recent ruling made the USB Type-C cable the universal standard, and though that cable covers most smartphones, tablets, earbuds, headphones, and portable speakers, it doesn't cover the iPhone, which uses Apple's exclusive Lightning connector to recharge.

However, as USA Today reports, the EU's new ruling may force Apple to replace it.

"We cannot allow the consumer electronics industry to prioritize proprietary and inevitably obsolete charging technology over consumer protection and environmental health," reads an excerpt from the letter.

Time will tell if the Department of Commerce will take action on behalf of the senators' request and if Apple will adhere to the EU's rulling and do away with their Lightning port.

"[The EU’s] policy has the potential to significantly reduce e-waste and help consumers who are tired of having to rummage through junk drawers full of tangled chargers to find a compatible one, or buy a new one," the senators wrote. "The EU has wisely acted in the public interest by taking on powerful technology companies over this consumer and environmental issue. The United States should do the same."

The 10 Best Liam Neeson Movies

He's battled Batman, trained Jedi, led revolutions, and chased down kidnappers using a "particular set of skills." The Oscar-nominated Liam Neeson's been fighting the good fight for decades, bouncing from drama to action to rom-coms to…well, action again.

But which are Liam Neeson's best films? We've whittled the actor's catalogue down to his 10 best flicks, featuring scarred superheroes, caring fathers, master of the Force, and the one person you want tracking you down if you get "Taken."

    10. Love Actually

Where to Watch: Netflix, Tubi (w/ ads), or rentable on most platforms.

Liam Neeson was part of a larger ensemble for Richard Curtis' Christmas-themed rom-com but his role as a grieving widow who makes it his mission to help his stepson woo a classmate is one of the most tender and giving elements of the film. Neeson's mostly made a career out of his stern gruffness so getting to see his capacity for warmth was a highlight here.

    9. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace

Where to Watch: Disney+, Turner apps, or rentable on most platforms.

Though the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy is polarizing, Liam Neeson's Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn is the stalwart centerpiece of The Phantom Menace. As Obi-Wan's mentor in the ways of the Force, Qui-Gon is our entry-point hero into the Skywalker Saga and Neeson's commanding presence gives weight to the plight of the Jedi. And Neeson's not done with the role either, having recently reprised it for Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi. See where it ranked on our list of the best Star Wars movies.

    8. Michael Collins

Where to Watch: Rentable on Amazon and most platforms.

Liam Neeson garnered heaps of praise, and a few acting awards, for his titular role in Neil Jordan's Michael Collins. Playing a leader in the early-20th-century Irish struggle for independence Neeson was magnetic and impassioned, capping off a thunderous trilogy of historical, biographical dramas after Schindler's List and Rob Roy. Julia Roberts, Aidan Quinn, Stephen Rea, Alan Rickman, and Brendan Gleeson co-starred in this impactful '90s film.

    7. Silence

Where to Watch: Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Epix, or rentable on most platforms.

Liam Neeson worked with the legendary Martin Scorsese a second time, after Gangs of New York, in 2016's Silence, about two 17th-century Jesuit priests who travel to Edo-era Japan to locate their missing mentor. Neeson's supporting role was the enigma at the heart of the story, playing the Jesuit Cristóvão Ferreira, a man who'd recanted his faith in under the threat of torture. Silence is one of Scorsese's more reflective, contemplative works, like 1997's Kundun, and was a passion project 25-years in the making.

    6. Kinsey

Where to Watch: Rentable on Amazon and most platforms.

Neeson returned to the biographical drama, and glowing reviews, with 2004's Kinsey, starring as famed "sexologist" Alfred Kinsey. Beauty and the Beast's Bill Condon directed Neeson in one of his most lauded roles, rebelling against the anti-sex propaganda of his era, eventually collecting scientific data about human sexual behavior. Neeson captures the intelligent, obsessive nature of Kinsey in a tremendous film co-starring Laura Linney, John Lithgow, and Peter Sarsgaard.

    5. Batman Begins

Where to Watch: HBO Max, or rentable on most platforms.

Liam Neeson found him instrumental to the creation, and reinvention, of the Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, as a warrior who trains Bruce Wayne to become an instrument of vengeance – only to reveal himself to be Ra's al Ghul, the dangerous leader of the League of Shadows. Formidable as both a crucial friend and a critical foe for Batman, Neeson was instrumental in ushering in the Dark Knight Trilogy with grace and gravitas. See where it ranks on our list of the best Batman Movies.

    4. Darkman

Where to Watch: Rentable on Amazon and most platforms.

Liam Neeson portrayed a gruesome supe in Sam Raimi's Darkman, the story of a scientist left deformed, and on death's door, who rebounds to seek revenge using fake faces that allow him to become anyone he wants. Neeson's giddily violent vigilante was hailed as a ghastly good time as Raimi transitioned out of his Evil Dead roots into something that blended horror with high-stakes adventure.

    3. Rob Roy

Where to Watch: HBO, HBO Max, Cinemax Go, or rentable on most platforms.

Though overshadowed a bit by Braveheart, which was released the same year and centered on a different historical Scottish rebel, Michael Caton-Jones' Rob Roy was still a modest hit, and one of Liam Neeson's best starring roles. With incredible performances from co-stars Jessica Lange and Tim Roth (who received an Oscar nomination), Rob Roy was a rousing character-driven study of a Scottish clan chief who battles sadistic nobles in the 18th century. Neeson was phenomenal in this title role, fed by fury and fervor.

    2. Taken

Where to Watch: Hulu, or rentable on most platforms.

A career high for Liam Neeson that few saw coming, Taken is one of the best, tightest action flicks in history, impeccably plotted, directed, and in full command of Neeson's talents as a strong, driven lead. Neeson had been in action films before but Taken basically reinvented, and reinvigorated, his later-stage career and transformed him into a full-fledged action hero. Lesser sequels followed but Taken, complete with its memorable phone call scene, led Neeson into a new realm of intense thrillers and edge-of-your-seat adventures.

    1. Schindler’s List

Where to Watch: Starz apps, or rentable on most platforms.

Liam Neeson's best film actually won Best Picture, which was just one of the twelve Academy Awards it was nominated for. Neeson himself received an Oscar nomination, the only one of his career, for playing German industrialist Oskar Schindler, a Nazi party member who, after a change of heart, worked desperately to save the lives of over 1200 Jewish refugees from the Holocaust. Acting with brilliance, Neeson was able to show both horror and heart in this Steven Spielberg masterpiece.

Black Adam Confirmed For San Diego Comic-Con

Black Adam, the long-awaited DC movie starring Dwayne Johnson, is heading to San Diego Comic-Con this summer.

Johnson broke the news on social media in a video saying that “the rumors are true” and “the hype is real.” Finally, after almost a decade in the making, audiences will get to learn even more about the movie starring Black Adam, villain turned antihero.

In his post, Johnson writes, “Finally…The Man in Black Comes Home to Comic-Con.” The panel for Black Adam will take place in Hall H on Saturday, July 23, though a time has not yet been specified.

While details are sparse on just what fans will get to see at the panel, a new look at the upcoming film and new information from the cast and director Jaume Collet-Serra seem likely. The first trailer for Black Adam dropped in June. It was as action-packed as you might expect.

Johnson’s dedication and love for the film and character are infectious. Last month he said he was “100% committed to not only Black Adam, but then expanding the Black Adam Universe, the DC Universe.” Assuming the film does well, this won’t be Black Adam’s only outing.

Black Adam follows the titular character after he’s freed from being entombed nearly 5,000 years prior. Bestowed with the powers of the Egyptian Gods, he is now ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the world.
